We have had Twigs for about a month now. And so far all we've giving him in the way of treats are carrots, celery and some store bought apple flavored rabbit treats. What else can we give him in the way of treats???:?

He does has plenty of pellets and hay at all times.

Also is it ok for them to eat seeds? We have a parrot and Twigs will eat the seed that he drops down. OK sometime throws at him :p.

Welcome to RO!

My rabbits like cheerios, graham crackers and raisins as favorite treats. I've never offered seeds of a parrot kind to my buns, anyone have any thoughts on that?

:)

You shouldn't buy store bought treats. They are really unhealthy. You can give him small berries and veggies but not everyday.

I give apples, carrots, and banana skin as treats to mine! I'm surprised, but they love the banana skin almost more than the banana itself. Just make sure you wash bananas thoroughly and if feeding the skins organic is probably better.

Mine LOVES apple. I give her little apple pieces about twice a week. Just started her on parsley and she seems to love it so I'm giving that to her daily. I also introduced banana to her and she seems to love it as well. I gave her a little taste and got up to move something and she kept following me wanting more LOL (impatient little one). OH she also likes baby carrots which i give her once a week in combination with the other things. Will probably start on other natural treats like berries to mix it up a bit for her. Keep it natural and stay away from store bought type treats (from what I've learned) and none of those yogurt treats they sell in the store either.

For treats, my bunny loves his banana the best! I've given him a few slices of red grapes for a special treat as well and he seems to really enjoy those. Try a few pieces of strawberry! I've definitely read you should stay away from the yogurt dips you get at the pet store, so be wary of those.

There's lot of good fruit ideas!

Mine guy loves dried fruit if any kind. He also loves dandelions and cilantro.
Dandelions I would have never though of that. My yard is full of those. Nice and easy and cheap LOL. The yellow flower & the stem or leafs?

They usually like the leaves but beware with outside plants, there have been other members posting that their bunnies got worms from feeding outside plants. You also want to make sure the plants are well-washed but this might not even rid of all parasites.

Back at home I fed my bunnies clover leaves and dandelion leaves from the yard since we didn't treat the lawn.

Oats! Q-tip loves her oats!

She also gets to the parrot's seeds sometimes (what is it with parrots throwing seeds at rabbit???)...I try to limit her seed intake, but sometimes she hops the barrier to see what he's going to throw at her. Never had any problems with her eating seeds....although I don't encourage it.

My bunnies love their apple slices and strawberries from my garden. Also papaya.

Wheat grass we grow all year round. They truly like that treat.

Also have given parsley, arugula, kale, basil, broccoli. Can't wait to get the garden going again.

I don't do store bought treats. But that's just me.

My bunnies do get clover from our front yard. And hopefully, we have dandelions for them to try this year.

K:)
