Well - I bit the bullet and just called the vetsand he goes in on Tuesday, which would still be Monday for those in thestates. I finally found a good reliable vet clinic close by that knowsrabbits are not to be starved before a neuter and that they need theirfood and water with them afterwards. He's going in earlier than thefour month mark as his testicles are BIG and clearly visable. He wasgoing to go in on the 26th but they agreed to bring it forward, hishumping and spraying is not something I want him to get used to doing. Not to mention the poo's! How does a critter manage to have more comeout one end than goes in the other?

Hopefully he recovers quickly and I can then look into getting him afriend from the SPCA. This afternoon I'm going to try and make someshelving for his cage too, with ramps, should I leave that out untilafter the neuter? Might be better for him to stay on a flat surfacemaybe.

Anyway, wish him luck! Hard to believe my little baby is old enough forthis already. He'll only cost $90 to do as he is small, I think that'sabout $66 US so that seems like a good price from what I have read onhere.

A nervous wave goodbye from the NZ crew :pullhair::ponder:

Oh I know what you mean with the marking andpoops! At that age, Mocha's nickname was thePooBeast! I was counting the days till she could get"neutered" then got a big shock when she got spayed instead. And I thought girls weren't supposed to spray.:?

I agree with leaving the new shelves out until after he's recoveredfrom his neuter. You don't want him jumping around like amonkey the day after his surgery. Just because he feels fine(and many boys do) doesn't mean he can be so silly that his stitchesrip.

Let us know how he does. I'll be thinking of both of you!:hug2

It's natural to be nervous, but I'm sure he'll do fine. I'll be thinking of you guys:)

Good luck to BunBun! I'm sure he will dowonderfully, and you know that you are doing what is best for him! MyOswald goes in on Tuesday (here in the states, Wednesday for you?) so Idefinitely feel your nervousness!

*hugs* to you and bunbun!

Thanks for all the nice words :), I just gotback from dropping him off and I feel sick with worry but they were alovely clinic so I'm hoping it all goes well. They teased him about notneeding a humping toy anymore and that made me smile.

It feels strange to look over and see his empty cage :(. Every singlepet I've had desexed has died within the month following (run over, runaway and gotten run over, infection of the ear not picked up by vet, urinary infection suddenly turned bad even when on meds) so I am REALLYhoping that this breaks the cycle. I'mj glad he's an indoor rabbitthough as that willhelp me to keep an eye on him.

Please be ok BunBun! :tears2::heart::kiss:

Just got a call from the vet and he's doing well:D, he's walking around in the cage and nibbling hay so that's great! Ihave to wait for another 2 hours before I can go get him though - I'mtrying to entertain myself by watching all the funny videos on youtube;).

The vet hasn't really said, but should I put towels down in his cage do you think? It's got a rubbery/plasic bottem right now.

I put a warm towel beside my bun maomaochiu thenight after his neuter, and he seems to like it as he snuggled withit. but it was hard to keep the towel warm forlong.

i also agree that he should be limited not to jump up and down for a couple of days.

good luck and big hugs!

Good idea! Maybe I can do the heated up rice ina sock thing? He's home now and seems ok, he's a bit grumpy at me anddoesn't want to eat but he's bright eyed and active. I tried offeringhim some banana but he kinda looked interested them backed away fromit. He's hiding in his cardboard box now, all stretched out for a nap.

He goes back in two weeks to get his stitches removed.

His tummy feels really empty, like his sides are hollow and I can seeit even under all his fur, does that mean he has nothing in there? Hepoop'd and pee'd quite a bit in his cage since I got him back though.

Glad to see he's doing so well - he's a real cutie. Please keep us up to date on how things go...

Thanks :)! He sure doesn't seem very happy, hejust sits in his litter box with his eyes half closed. He'll hop outagain every now and then to go sit in the other tray but has refusedall food water and treats. He perks up again every now and then but hedoesn't even want me to pat him! I sure hope he feels better bytomorrow.
