Thanks to a scare from last night aka my bun getting chased by a puppy is now terrified of being on the ground...even though my boyfriend's puppy has only been at my apartment a couple of times, last night did Wrangler in. He got smart and figured out he would be safer on my bed. And that's where he stayed all night and all the next day. Now I don't have a problem with him being on my bed; infact, I think it's rather cute. He stayed at my feet the whole night and in the morning he hopped on over to me and my boyfriend (which I thought was hilarious). It's not every day you wake up to a rabbit sitting on your chest and looking at you! Anywho, the only problem is, is that after my boyfriend left and I got out of the shower, Wrangler had pooped and peed a little bit on my bed (on my side of the bed, near my pillow)! I told him that was a "no no" and put him in his cage (which he threw a fit). Then I let him back out and he jumped back onto the bed. Well I had to go to work so I just prayed that he wouldn't make a mess while I was gone. When I came home, he had only pooped a little bit (near my pillow again)...I don't know if he peed; if he did, it must have dried before I got home. Then of course I told him that was a "no" and put him back in his cage a little while longer. When I opened his cage, he jumped right back onto the bed. Now maybe I've asked this question a little while back, but how in the world do you discipline a rabbit? Do they listen/understand? Like I said above, I don't mind him at all being on my bed (I love it actually)...but I do not want him to poop and pee on it. He know's how to go in his cage since he has been free-roaming for over a year now. I know he's smart. Any advice/tips anyone? Sorry that this was kind of a long paragraph!

I am in the same boat as well, I love when my rabbit is on my bed, but he will not stop peeing and pooping. It's almost as if he is marking his territory, although he has been altered so I am not sure if that makes sense anymore. I will however tell you that I read somewhere that bunnies will pee near the scent of their owners to mark that they are in fact a part of your family. It sounds really sweet but its terribly annoying. Any help as far as to make him stop I would greatly appreciate as well!

Oh well that's kinda neat/sweet...lol...but yeah my male is fixed as well so go figure :?I guess we'll just try one day at a time and hopefully he'll learn that peeing and pooping on the bed is a big no no if he's gonna be on it!

Its a territorial thing. Vinegar is a must, you have to eliminate all previous odors. Then I'd just recommend covering the bed with an old heavy blanket (if you want him up there) or an old shower curtain (if you don't) or even put a small litter box up there.

It usually takes mine a good month or more to lose interest in a 'spot', or at least figure the territory has been established and it no longer needs marking.

It does happen, though.
