Since I had to get him a bigger litter tray lastweek, it took away a lot of his lounging room in the big wabbitat cage.So I'm going to build him a new one with NIC cubes this weekend. Ialready picked up the coroplast this morning and will get the cubestomorrow night. I'll be sure to post photos when I get it all done.

Will a nic cage be strong enough for a fullgrown flemish? I thought I had read somwhere it wouldn't be....(But Icould be dreaming too)

I look forward to hearing how Fonzie likes it and how it works for him, Mambo!

Woohoo! Good stuff for Fonzie!! ..let me knowhow that work out with the connectors and zipties, cuz i made mine withonly zipties and it sags where the doors are.. so ive been thinking ofripping it down and adding the connectors and that would distribute theweight more evenly

If you're handy with metal working, you can cutand customize the grids to make a "frame" of sorts that would stay inplace and a smaller swinging section that attaches to the front ofthat/those grid(s). I've seen it done that way, you just haveto make sure all of the edges are smoothed out so the bunny doesn'tinjure itself.

You're right. The door will be the tricky part, but we'llsee how it goes.
Yup, i took me a long time to figure out how to make the door. Here's a picture of the door on Devon's cage.

Hope it helps,

This is what I was talking about. Thetrimmed grid that stays in place is just a frame, then anotherpieceis on top of it that swings open (opened in picbelow). Would Fonzie be able to fit through a door this size?

How is the swinging door part attached?

I think it's put on there with hinges and theother side is just clipped closed. I didn't make thisone. I saw it on E-Bay. Mine aren't nearly thisnice-looking!

My doors are like what Laura found on ebay...I don't think a Flemish would fit thru them very well.

I'll be curious Mambo to see how this turns out for stability....I havethe connectors and the zip ties on the one I have and it seemssturdy...but I thought I had read that somewhere, please keep usupdated, if it works out well and you come up with a good doorsolution, great, and I'm all for it!!

I bet Fonzie will love it!!!!!!

Mambo, I can't wait to hear when you'redone with the cage. I bet Fonzie is going to love it. I can't wait tosee pics of Fonzie chilling in his newspacious abode. What alucky boy he is to have such an awesome dad.

Where did you find that? I wish I had one of those for Devon and Amber's cage.

Its easy, you just have to cut the wires out todo so, we did that on mine. Then used a grinder to malke theedges smooth. ;)

I know you asked for pics of Sampson's cage, butI couldn't get any to really come out nicely. They all lookedjust like a wall of NIC squares. Angel made a huge one forSweetpea. Maybe she has some pics.

I will place some pics. Mine sags where the dooris too. But I had to cut the zip ties twice where I made the top lidat. That way I can open the door and the top lid so I can get in. Imight redo it abit with conncetors. let me know how it goes.
