This morning I went to feed my bun and therewere bugs crawling all over in the zip lock bag. I have no pellets forhim until my hubby gets home around after 4pm, would hay be enough totide him over? I haven't a clue how the bugs got in it I close it everytime I feed him.

He'll be fine with the hay to munch on fortoday. Insect eggs/larvae may have been in the feedwhen you purchased it. Insects can also chew through theplastic bags to lay eggs. Because insects can carry diseasesas well as parasites, you are wise to throw the feed away and get new.

Feed can be stored in hard plastic containers to better protect it frominsects. Extra can also be stored in the freezer to protectfrom insects.

Well luckily it was toward the end of the bag, there's only maybe a cup or so left in it. I started using zip lockbags, because the last time I was storing in containers I had to throwout half of my bag out because of the bugs. I will have to find abetter sealing container for next time. He's happily scarfing down hayright now :)Thanks so much for your help.

I don't know what brand you use....butpersonally if this happened to me more than once I think I'd be lookingfor either a new brand or a new supplier.

Well there was hardly any left in the bag so Itisn't a big deal really. Also the other bag I had to throw out half ofwas from another store that is closed now. I just hope they have thebrand Iuse in sometimes they have to order it from theirother location.
