I'm new to this RO and i want to talk about rabbits and birds. I have owned many rabbits and I most of them died of diarrhea. Currently i own 2 Australian Budgerigars and I kept them because i wanted a pet and I heard most people say that budgies are easy to keep.
There are 2 types of budgerigars: the Aussie budgie and English budgie. English budgies are slightly bigger. I am on the task of taming my budgies and it takes up a lot of time and patience. Which I cannot provide currently.
I have kept rabbits before and I think the results of their deaths are because I bought them when they were in poor condition. It wasn't really noticeable when I bought them I didn't know a lot about rabbits back then... I kept dwarf rabbits and now my eyes are set on this gorgeous a-little-bit-bigger-than-a-dwarf rabbit.
To newbies of rabbit keeping, here is my suggested feeding plan for dwarf rabbits:
Morning: A handful of commercial rabbit food and perhaps a slice of apple or pear to add variety to your petâs diet.
Afternoon or evening: One handful of greens and succulent foods. And some a carrot cut into bite-able pieces.
Daily: Hay or dry alfalfa- always put enough in the rack to last for 24 hours. Fill the water dispenser with fresh water.
Once or twice a week: Things to nibble on (the more variety, the better); for instance, twigs; in the fall, dry leaves, crunchy bread crusts, and various products pet stores sell.
Feeding Times:
Feed at regular intervals, preferably twice daily.
Only does and baby rabbits need to eat 3 times a day.
It is okay to feed dwarfs cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, lettuce, and turnips but I think that it is best to feed these in small amounts like treats.
DO NOT FEED: Raw beans and potato shoots and other items like chocolates and candy. But in all, be reasonable of what to feed to your rabbit.
So i hope you find this information useful...
Hey, does anyone know some housing plans or pictures that are highly suitable for bunnies?
Um i'm asking 2 poll questions and the first answer will be for the first question and after a comma, there will be an answer for the 2nd question... :big wink:
