Aaaaack... I'm in the Netherlands and my lil brother's birthday is this month. I am thinking of ordering something online from a good reputed site like Amazon and having it sent to him. I just can't figure out what :?It's his sweet 16 and I sorta didn't do anything special for him last year and I would really want to make it up to him...

Any ideas?

Ipod he has...

Video games he has a ton of and the one he wants is coming out later...

Meh...

He's... he's... a boy :pVideo games, gadgety stuff, cars...

I'm trying to find something a bit more meaningful. Something that can last him... Bleh I suck!

Thanks for helping! Hopefully you guys can get my mind going!

call him up and ask what he's been up to, then sorta go on what his activities are. i'd say do what my parents did but i dont think a boy would want a trinity ring lol. but yea, in a way sorta ask questions, anything except "what do you want" he'll pretty much rat himself out. then start talking about things that you wish you could get right now. it usually sparks the other person into saying "i was looking at ______ in the mall the other day..." and bingo, you have your item lol. it's worth a try.

or you can always get him a car or a 4 wheeler lol, but those are a bit expensive lmao
mini-quads can be like, 300.
:)
My friend got his for 250.
Give your parents the money/instructions on how/where to get it and send a card they can attach to it.

FOOD! What teenage boy doesn't eat? Get him candy. I know my brother would love me for it. lol

If you want something nicer that he can keep, then maybe a watch? My parents got my brother a watch when he graduated highschool(17yo) and he still wears it and hes now 25. You can get some really nice deals off Ebay. I bought my watch new, in box for 150$ and it was over 300$ at the store. I also bought another watch and it was also 100$ cheaper off Ebay then at the store.

There is a LOT of cool watches out there. Everything from fancy, to gadgety digital, to novelty, to leather, to nicer plain stainless steel watches.

I like giving watches as its a "fancier" gift that can be used everyday and is a keepsake.

Thanks guys. I ended up simply asking him. His answer: 'Use your big sista instinct, it's awesome!' Bleh... :expressionlessHe is getting the big room in the house though so I think I will send him something he could use in the room. Not sure yet... Lol.

Thanks everyone!

Not sure if you can get these where you are...but online you can go to a site called fatheads....they are HUGE decals for a wall...you can get them in favorite sports figures, movie stars, team logos, etc. If he's getting a big room it might be something to think about. My little brother LOVES them. He has 2 in his game room (ok so he's 36y/o, but he's still my little brother LOL)

You could be the coolest sister ever and get him a paintball gun :p That depends on your price range as well, but a starter kit would still be good, they come with a mask, some pods and the gun.

:thumbup I like that idea!

I like the ideas that have been coming up... Thanks for taking the time to help! Haha the paintball gun idea is cool but he doesn't really have time for it nor anyone to do it with I guess.

Next year is his graduation from high school so i am hoping to fly him in for the summer to visit holland so I am trying not to do anything too too expensive this year either yet still be meaningful.

I like the idea of wall deco or something like that. He has quite a bit since he worked a bit and he is the only kid left at my parents' ;)Plus, he's the baby of the family and he's well loved. That only makes it harder! Lol.

The quad thing is cool but he lives in the city :pThe food idea would definitely work but it's not something that would last. Although, I am considering having one of those fruit baskets sent to him because he's a fruit nut like me :biggrin2:

I had been considering the watch thing for a while. I saw an awesome one with the Canadiens' logo but it was quite expensive. Unfortunately, he lives in a rough area and I'm concerned about safety as well. I'd prefer him not wearing anything looking too expensive or cool. Call me paranoid but...

He's very much into cars and hockey... I saw a collectible viper painted in his fav team's colors... I might send him that with something else like the basket or something. Just not sure what yet. Christmas is coming too! Gah :pChristmas is easier though since it can be just anything he'd enjoy. This one for his 16th birthday, I would prefer itbe a bit more lasting. :)
