I had been feeding my bunns broccoli slaw but stopped after reading somewhere broccoli isn't all that good for them. The slaw is the stalks and little bits carrots thrown in. I buy it at the grocery store dry in a bag. I know the heads could give them diarrhea or belly ache. They won't eat that anyway. They love the slaw though. Thanks for the help in advance. :happybunny:

Broccoli just makes some bunnies gassy, thats why people say to feed it in moderation. Also carrots are high in sugar, so they're usually fed like a fruit treat. But as long as your buns aren't getting gassy from the broccoli; then its probably okay.

Plants in the brassica family (broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower) have been known to give some rabbits gas, but they're otherwise a "safe" veggie. I agree that carrots are very high in sugar (although the tops are a great choice) and should be fed sparingly. The broccoli slaw probably doesn't hurt them, but I'd recommend something leafier in the future.

Its not something they get a lot of. There's only little pieces of carrot in the slaw. We stick mostly to kale and romaine. Plus pellets and hay of course. Its just something different for variety. :happybunny:
