so my friend found a kitten and i volunteered to take it and get it weaned and then give it to another one of my friends, but her mom decided a second cat would cost too much so we are thinking of keeping it. which i told my mom that i would not keep it unless it stayed inside and we can try to bring my other cat izzy in. well she is an outside cat and has killed several birds, mice, and even a squirrel. now my rabbits are a lot bigger than any of those but has anyone had problems with cats and rabbits? especially an outside cat? ive heard a scratch from a cat can really hurt a rabbit to im kind of scared to bring izzy in. i know the kitten will be ok because we will grow the kitten up around rabbits. any experiences/ advice would be great!

Rabbits, for all of their fragility, are actually really tough at the same time. You actually need to be worried about the cat's safety as much as the rabbits--when cornered, they can turn around on their backs and kick your cat senseless.

Introduce them in a controlled situation. See how it goes. It's important to make sure the cats never chase the rabbits--the stress of being chased is probably more dangerous than the cat itself.

The kitten sounds young (not weaned), so should be fine. If raised around rabbits, there should not be too much of an issue. I Would keep it away from the rabbit for at least a little while until it is healthy and a bit bigger.

For the adult, it can still work. Again, I would try to keep it away from the rabbit at least for a little while. You want to make sure the cat is healthy and doens't have anything that could be an issue from being outside. Slow introductions are good. If the cat or rabbit acts aggressively, you may need to stop them and redirect behaviour (don't let either of them go after the other). Cats and rabbits can get along, but do need some work to make sure they can do it peacefully and both have a way to get away from the other.

Yea I won't introduce the kitten until her fleas are gone and she's eating hard food. And the adult will be introduced slowly anyway BC she's being brought in slowly.
