Hi! My name is Breezy the bunny.I got "rescued" by my momma. She had been looking for the right bunny after taking a few year long hiatus from rabbits (she used to raise and show many different breeds successfully). My mom knows a lot about rabbits, she loves rabbits a lot. Although she enjoyed it, mom had stopped breeding and showing because she couldn't bear to sell any of her babies and was appalled the way some breeders housed and maintained their prized rabbits. My mom always took hers to the vet, fed fresh greens and plentiful hay, rotated and provided toys, gave hours of out-of-cage exercise each day to every bun, and dedicated her time to individualized attention- but couldn't bear to see her babies to go to homes where that wasn't done. So now she spends her time educating people on proper indoor bunny care and training. She searched and searched but was not finding any bunny ads she found appealing, until she came across an ad for baby bunnies for sale for $15 a couple of hours away. The pictures showed lots of bunnies in all different colors and shapes, so she thought, 'There must be the one for me in there somewhere!'. So off she drove. It was a miserable drive, mom had a tummy ache so she had to make a lot of stops along the way if you know what I mean, hehe! But after two hours she pulled up in front of my house! It was dark, and she met a man out front with a phone flashlight who led her back to where we all were.My past life was not one of the luxury it is now. Bunnies of three different litters were all being kept in one wooden hutch outside. We didn't get much proper food, mom was sad when she saw we were being fed potato peels, brocolli, and old bread! But that's all I knew, so I ate it. Mom thought we all looked young to be away from our mommies, so she asked how old we were. Four weeks old! And we got weaned when we were only two and a half weeks. It broke mommys heart. She looked us all over pretty good then grabbed me first. The man said I was a Lionhead bunny but when he showed mom my parents, she isn't so sure. She thinks I'm a Lionhead mix. She tipped me over to see if I was a boy or girl (she wanted a girl), but because of what I had been eating, my poor tummy was so upset that my bum was crusted with poop! So she could not tell. She put me back and grabbed my sibling, who looked a lot like me. Nope, he's definitely a boy. And he didn't have the caca butt like I did. He put on the charm for mom and was much more appealing than I was. But mom put him back and looked at me. 'I know how you feel with an upset tummy'. She said. 'I'll take my chances with you being a boy or girl, let's get you home and cleaned up'. She grabbed me again and I melted into her chest so warm and safe. She gave the man her money, put me in a soft box and off we went. When I got home, everything was all new. I'd never been in the house before! Right away mom scooped me up and gave me a BATH! Ew! (I know, baths are bad but this was totally necessary) I didn't like it very much, but she got all the poopoo off my butt and was able to tell that I was a GIRL! How lucky she felt.So here I am, just being Breezy. Learning to enjoy this life where I am inside and fed good! I look forward to a long life with this nice lady. I hope she's as grateful to have me as I am to have her... somehow, I think she is ;-)
