So I've been breeding the rabbits today. How many does do you think the buck is good for? I've got 3 does I was wanting bred to the one buck and 2 with the other. I've been sticking a doe in with the buck leaving them for 15 minutes or so, and then swap out does. And I was wanting to go back through and stick the does in a second time. Just to be more sure. Because I am yet to have luck so far.

Anyway do you think that is too much on the buck?

It depends on the buck, all bucks are different some are very keen on breeding some don't care and take there time.
3 does to one buck is okay, some breeders breed there buck to 6 different does in one week.

Try table breeding, its much easier, put both rabbits on a table, in the first matting the doe will realease eggs, then put them in together again for another breeding 4-6 hours later when the does eggs are ready to be fertilized.

actually the one buck, when I set the doe in his cage and I just kept my hand on her so she wouldnt move.... He just sort of looks at me like 'what the heck you doin'? I have this covered' and wont touch her til I remove my hands. Picky Picky

haha yeah some are like that, is he the buck you are wanting to breed from?

yeah. I just split the does up and just matched what I thought would work best with each buck. Just hoping for kits really.
I had a buck like that he was very good in qaulity and was a good show buck, he never bred.

Will he breed if he leave them alone together or does he need some Apple ceder Vinager?

he's extremely gun ho about breeding, unless I try to hold the doe. The older doe I had, every time I went to take her out of the pen he'd get back on her and keep going. I was honestly surprised he didn't kill himself, because he is that gun ho about it.

I'm just not sure if he's good or not to be honest.

I have only breed my buck twice in the same day once. It produced a litter of 9 and a litter of 4. I did not rebreed later on in the day. I would have to agree that it really depends on the buck, and one would have to have pretty good records, that go back a while, to actually determine if the double or triple breeding was have an effect or not.

I have the same problem also with my Lionhead Buck. If I touch hes girl, He will just look at me and sniff my hand and wont do anything until I take my hand out. Now my other Buck (Jersey Wooly) doesn't mind me holding the doe down. Just some arent for sure why we are touching their Woman!
