Finally - the high today is only going to be in the mid-70's! This is the first day below 80 degrees since April. We should have had this weather a month ago. It has been so hot here; hitting 90 almost every day. I was able to open up the house this morning and let fresh air in!!! The bunnies like that too. They love to sit in front of the sliding doors and smell the outside air.

It's been unusually warm here too, but its dropping now to the 50's and upper 40's. I won't mind if the cold holds off, but usually around the end of Oct we really decline in temps.

:yeahthat:

Indiana has been very similar to Missouri. Parkas with 70° and I would be dead! I don't even wear a coat in the winter all the time. Drives my mom crazy - 3 feet of snow and I don't wear a coat LOL! I put one in the van so if something happens I have it.... but I love to pull up to her house without one on and she freaks out LOL!

Funny you said "parkas":D. My hubby always makes fun of me in the summer when it's not humid and in the evenings after the sun starts to set if it's below 70,he teasesme about myneeding a parka:shock:.

It's been quite chilly here too the last week. Getting down in the mid to upper 40s overnight, burr!

Most people think of Florida as being hot all of the time, but that isn't true. In the winter we can (and do) have days where the high is in the 50's and I've seen it get down the the high 20's at night.

I hope this mild weather holds out over the weekend. I'd love to take Sparky and Scooter outside for a while. Most of the year it's just too hot for them to leave their air conditioned comfort.

Yeah, and I don't like taking mine out in the summer when it's real humid (I have a pen set up outside-soon to be put away for winter:(), they don't like that, heck, I don't like that:p.

We had a record high of 77 F yesterday. But in a 6hours, the wind picked up and the temp dropped to 42.8 F.

Right now we are at 42 F with a wind chill of 39 F. Tonight our lows will be 35 F with windchills of 27 F. Might get some SNOW in Friday.

Luvabun, are you sure you want to move here. :D

I want snow :(. Prescott is CHILLY....it was like 80 F today . Right now it is about 60 F....and tonight it is going to be 42 F.

COOOOLD!!

AHHH hahaha. When I still lived in NY....80 would be nice weather, if it wasn't too humid :p.

Er, can someone help the international-english-ly challenged and explain what a parka is?

:embarrassed:

I'm assuming it's like a windbreaker or a snuggly jacket of some sort?

One thing I adore about New Zealand is our temperatures. In my city, it never snows or gets too hot either, all year 'round temps are normally between 5-28 degrees celsius....not sure what that is in farenheitdeegoop, but it's maybe 40-85? We get a lot more humidity than our Australian cousins though which makes it feel hotter. I went to Sydney a couple of years ago and the dry heat was really nice.

Woot for cooler temps for you guys though! :wiggle

It'san outer jacket that is usually with down (feathers) filledinsulation and has a hood for your head. The fabric is at least wind resistant and should repel rain or snow. Something like that is too warm for me, as I like to dress in layers.

We had a thin layer of snow this morning. Just enough that 7 injury accidents happened in traffic.
The temp is 1*C (33F) now and tonight we will be down to -5*C (23F) and a wind chill of -11*C (12F).

Oh wow that looks nice and snugly! That'd be worn here for the snowy areas, I think I'd call that a snow jacket :D.

I'm more of a layer person too. I don't like bulky clothing, makes it hard to wash the dishes.

Ohhh...Stann...I'm SO JEALOUS!! It's been an average of about 90F here this week!

Danny's dad live in Edmonton...he's just spoiled with the cooler temps. Yes, there's tons of snow, and CRAZY cold temps...but *sigh* I think I'd welcome the change!!

I WANNA WINTER!! *THUMPS* :grumpy:

Parkas were origonally an Alaska/Canada native thing I believe, and they were made of fur or bird pelts often with wolf or wolverine hair around the face since it's resistant to frost :biggrin2:I went to 2 museums today can you tell?
