I am not a huge tv person..... I have some shows that I like but I won't really stop stuff to go watch them. Except for BRAVO tv. OMG I am hooked!

I love Project Runway - it's now off for the season and supposed to move to another network! :(

The Rachel Zoe Project...... I don't know how or why..... I'm hooked! but again, season finale.......

Tabitha's Salon Makeover - WHAT A WITCH!!! but she's AWESOME! and again.... season ended!!!

Today, I suddenly started watching The Real Housewives....... OMG!!! I am hooked! LOL!

Now, I need to stay away from Tim Gunn's guide to style cause I absolutely love him! He's adorable, as is Michael Kors!

Am I alone?

I love Runway and Top Chef but Runway is best. When Runway changes to the new channel, it will be on twice a year! Once in the late summer and then again in January. It will be filmed in LA and Tim will still be with the show. I didn't realize he is no longer with Parsons School but is the creative director for Liz Claiborne.

Michael is adorable. Have you seen his mom? They look and dress alike!

I know! I saw Tim with Liz Claiborne last night (I finally got to see the finale') and was kinda shocked! I love Liz Claiborne cosmetics tho :) Tim's just such a sweetheart and so kind.

YES! I've seen Michael with his mom. It's just so cool that they are like FRIENDS and so great together!

I should say we also love Heidi here. She is why we named Tony Heidi originally.

I really didn't like Nina at first, but she's really come around and she's so GOOD at what she does really.

I loved this season.I really loved thefashions this time for some reason. I've always enjoyed a lot of things (Like Jeffrey's yellow plaid couture dress) but I found more this time. I think there was something from almost each contestant that if I had the body, I would wear! LOL!

You mean you don't get cable or satellite? {{{shudders at the thought}}} There are so many educational opportunities that you are missing our on!

I had black and white TV until 1997... I remember being weirded out by colour TV... the colour was just so strange... Had bush cable (2 channels), up until 2 years ago.

God bless government programming!

we mainly do ABC, PBS and WCEU, except for Saturday mornings when Em watches cartoons on like 8 and 6. it's cool, i've gotten used to it:p(but i still miss animal planet, disney and HDTV after 7 years:D). and we know how to use the library's hold system real well:biggrin2:.

We very deliberately went without cable or any additional tv for um....4 years maybe? I'm trying to remember.

Part of it was - we just couldn't afford it (I'm actually thinking of dropping our cable now - Art has suggested it more than once and I've been the holdout) - but the only things we've watched on tv in the last 3 months have been the debates and last night I watched Saturday Night Live. Oh - and I watched two episodes of Survivor and 1 episode of CSI.

Yeah...that's really worth $150+.....NOT.

Edited to add: About 9 months before we moved to Alaska - we moved to a different town and we could afford the cable....BIG MISTAKE. We got hooked almost immediately on reruns in the afternoon of Quantum Leap - and I forget what else -but we would spend 3-4 hours per day in front of the stupid tv. I still love Quantum Leap...but still yet - that was a lot of time we could be doing things as a family or the kids could've been more involved w/ other kids vs. watching tv...

People who live in countries with cable etc often laugh when I say we only have 5 (6 if I tuned in the maori channel) channels, but we get a lot of the popular US shows for free on those channels, that you have to pay for with cable in the US.

Obviously there are more channels you can buy with "Sky", all the popular US ones and some local, but I just don't see the point. Only channel I would ever want to pay for would be the discovery channel, but I don't wanna pay for all the other crap that you have to just to get that.

I can remember when I was a kid there was only channel 1 and channel 2, and channel 3 came out on my birthday when I was about 8. Then we had MTV for a bit when I was a teen, then we got an Australian channel (Prime), then we got C4 which is a music channel. There is a maori channel but I can't speak the language so haven't bothered to tune it in.

TV here is going to be all digital by 2010 or something, so we'll have to by a digital reciever thingy soon, but all those new channels will be high-def and free (yay!).

WOW! we don't get the extra HD channels free here. We'll be all HD in February.

We have basic cable and I can honestly say that we use those channels most. We are really angry that our service just deleted the National Geo. channel (my son ALWAYS watched that one) and CMT.

Now, I don't really watch tv like a lot of people I know. My family (mom, dad, sis, etc.,) sit in front of the tube 24/7 I swear!

I only watch certain shows and I have and will miss them too. Last night we were up at 11:10 pm.... planning to watch SNL. I told Lexi that I was just too tired. Luke was at his grandparents' and John was already asleep. We turned off the tv and went to bed...... it's not worth losing needed sleep!

However, if I can --- I watch Bravo shows that I love! and I will watch CSI, SVU and the debates this year.... I even watched Colin Powell on Meet the Press this morning.

I think it's hilarious that Project Runway has actually taught my family some fashion things..... like makeup tips, words forsewingtechnique and we actually appreciate the fashion designs and stuff now. Plus it's a fun show to watch!

I think Tabitha is a witch but she is PROFESSIONAL! and honestly, she has said some things that I have personally seen when interviewing people for jobs. Like PLEASE don't chew gum, bring your children, and such on an interview.

So I think that some of the real life shows are educational that way. I like having both educational value and real entertaining shows on to enjoy. I even will listen to some of the disney shows with my daughter. I might fold laundry and watch Drake and Josh with her.....

One yearI gave up TV for Lent and did without one for 2 years. This was before Greg and I married. We had just met and hethought no TV was the weirdest thing ever. I read a lot of books and got a lot of needlework done.
