Great site but unfortunately None ofthe suggested cause and fixapplies to this particula baby , Let me explain .

This Baby was bornhere and has beenhandled since birth , alwaysflipped on the back and coo'edand cuddled , which she loved ,She will snuggle up into yourneck and just sit there foras long as you will let her ,

Which she was doing a fewseconds before returning her to her cage. as soon as I set her back Inthere and went to give herher last pet , she turned into a demonspawn , My Husband went over 5 minuteslater and she was as sweet as pie. An hourlater we went back down becausei had forgotten something He decidesto check her again Put hishand in and she came at Himfull force drawing blood . Thislittle stinker is only10 weeksold come 5/16 , I have neverseena baby this aggressive this early , especiallyone i have raised ?its just so beyond me .
This is a little Dutch bunny with very bad manners .

I was going to ask her age, but you answered it.Ten weeks does seem a bit young to be showing hormones, but who knows? Some do develop earlier than others. My Abby was nippy before we gother spayed, but of course your doe is too young for that still.

Maybe she's just saying "get out of my space" to you guys. I assume youhave to reach in to get her out of the cage? Maybe for now you couldbuild a ramp of some sort? Just a thought, I'm not sure what your setup is there.

Could also be you need to do some aggression therapy with her. Let herknow you're in charge. Valuran also went through a nipping stage andwhat I did was hold him down firmly with both hands on his shouldersand told him No. He did stop shortly thereafter, but he was older thanyour rabbit too.

she's not in any pain is she? if she's biting sometimes and not others she may be in some sort of pain i dunno.

i dont think she is in pain because it is theexact same story with my rabbit Tod, and i think HE is just protectinghis cage. But i dont know.

Hiya gypsy!

Our Binkie is the same way. She's a mini lop ( we think ).

She is VERY protective of her cage plus she's 5 months old and notspayed = teenbunnietude. Out of her cage she's ok. But put her back inher cage and she doesn't want any hands in there AT ALL!

This morning she spun around to bit me when I put her food dish back inher cage. She ended up biting her own ear though! Serves her right!Brat!

Hi Ya Jim . LMBO!!! that'llteacher her lol I bustedout laughing so hard at thatear nip lol. Now thisis really Quirky , I went downthis morning and again just a few minutesago and picked her up snuggled herboth times and thistime she iddint boither to nipjust the silly nose kissesshe always does .quirkey little stinker geesh

OK One thing I did differentlast night I havent done beforewith her or any ofthem I gave them Collards, I guess the questions isIs there an enzyme or chemical inCollards that maybe she couldnthandle ? She only had a smallsquare of it becuase its one ofthem nasty yuckytough ewwwwwwey veggies , And Iwasnt sure how any of themwould take to it ,

Amy I know Dutch are funnycritters her Mother is likethat the only time that silly rabbitis kind nice andgentle is when sheis pregnant geesh ( likethats ever going to happen again) .

Black Jack : she shouldnt be inpain , she was fine one secondand the ext a bitinglittl fur ball , all that fast , 8 keep inmind just a few seconds beforethat she was doingnose kisses ( shrugs ) typical Dutch Iguess lol

well my sweet girl angel would bite me so hard that she would break my skin and sometimes give me a bruse.

i believe that was only because she was pregnant.

but i was wrong she still bites me when i dont give her enough treats or mess with her toys or hay.

RABBIT BITES HURT!!!!!!

If you are really brave you could put somethingnasty on your finger when you put your hands in the cage and if shebites you, she may think twice the next time or two or three.Getting bit by accident is bad enough, getting bit on purpose is awful

Ya knowI thought of puttingYuckytasting stuff on myhands too then thoughtbetter of it , reason being lolIf it is alcohol based pepper based , vengarbased Its going to smart worsethat the actual bite , combinedtogether well letsjust say 200 pounds offlab jumping around a garage isnt goingto be a pretty site lmao. Altho It mayslow the Traffic down here somel,ao .

I dont know I just dont gether , ;ast night she wasgood she let me pet herand give her ear rubs30 seconds later right backto being a snot again , ( hehe , nowI know what to watchfor I can move fasterthan her lol ).

Im begining to think maybe its a genticthingy her uncle was the sameway He would let you rubhis ear nubbs butthen turn aroubd and try todehand you . Both the earlessMales are mini Dutch. Momma is a normal ( dutch, normal ?n/m ) size Dutch ,and also has tude ,

Many years ago I had 3 rabbits that I'dpurchased from someone who did the same thing. I never was able tobreak them of the habit...actually these 3 were a bit aggressive in orout of the cage, but it was in the cage where they became dangerous. Ihad attributed it to two things: Rabbits can be territorial and protecttheir domain aggressively, as these 3 seemed to be doing; and thethought also struck me that a human hand, entering this domain, mightjust look like a predator to them (i.e., a snake, perhaps) and theirattack instinct would kick in. Of course I'm justguessing, and who knows? With these 3 itmight havebeen genetic as well, I suppose...they were all sisters coming from thesame breeder.

Afraid this isn't much help to you in looking for answers on how tostop it, but I guess it does happen sometimes with rabbits. I know thatwhen I first adopted my dog from the Humane Society, she was extremelypossessive of food, and would bite if anyone put their hand near thedish. To stop her from this, I began feeding her by holding her fooddish in my lap. She wasn't allowed to eat it unless she accepted that Iwas there, holding it...and I would praise her every time she atewithout growling. If she growled or snapped, I said "NO!" and took thefood away, then returned it a few moments later to try again. Now she'sfine around most food...it's only special treats like pigs' ears whereshe cannot tolerate people or other animals around it.

So I don't know...perhaps this method could apply to aggressivebunnies? What if, for the next while when you feed this one, you holdthe dish just inside the door of the cage, praising the bunny as sheeats? Even stroking her fur and talking to her soothingly if she willtolerate it. I have no idea if this will help her to accept you puttingyour hands in her cage with her, but just maybe she will begin toassociate your hand and your soothing voice with food and comfort.

Just an idea.. :)

You need to be careful when introducing two bunnies for thefirst time you cant just put them together and hope for the best, because its very likely that they willfight. Youhave to bond them gradually.
