On Wednesday I discovered Toby had peed on the floor for no apparent reason. I got mad, cleaned it, and then Thursday morning Kirby peed in his condo on the ground, in the second level. I don't know why!!! I have never had either of them do this nor again since. They are seperate, bu in the same room and both neutered. Kirby is 3 and Toby is about 5 Or 6 months old. Toby has been neutered for several weeks now, so he hormones should be under control.

Kirby has also been doing some strange things recently like pooping outside the box all over his area. He has been molting, and been scratching a place behind his ear, causing one spot that has shorter fur than everywhere else so you see the different color of the inside fur. I took him to he vet for scratching 2 weeks ago and nothing was found. Every once in a while when I'm on his mat playing in his pen I'll feel super itchy and find that something's bit me (there's a raised hard lump on my skin that itches like mad and goes away in an Hr or so without a trace). Maybe something bit Kirby but he's been scratching THAT spot for weeks. Anyway I threw out the mat and vacuumed and mopped up the whole place, gave him a new mat that my husband bought on his last trip to Hong Kong (those mats are popular to sleep on in Asian countries because of the heat and humidity).

I don't know if I am just thinking too much or too deeply about nothing but a lot of things don't seem right. Does the peeing thing seem territorial or could it be something like a UTI? I've had another thread on the scratching but I think he was annoyed by maybe a bug biting him or something. What about the pooping?

:/

He is eating and peeing and pooping. They both are.

Btw sorry for any typos. I am not near my computer and typed the entry on my iPhone. Thanks for your understanding :)

Did the vet look in his ear when you took him in for the scratching, or just at the skin around it? Most external parasites can be seen. Fur mites make skin dandruffy, fleas leave flea dust. Ear mites are hard to see, but other than that all I can think of is bed bugs or chiggers that can't be seen...

Pooping around is territorial for sure, and urinating all over can be too--my spayed female loves to do this. However, since it's a change that's recent, it may be due to a UTI. I'd keep an eye on the urine and see if it looks different in color or texture. If it continues, I'd take him in for a checkup. The hormones are active for up to 6 weeks after a neuter, and even fixed bunnies can be territorial.

She looked in and around. Kirby's black fur does not show any dandruff or dustiness. It looks pretty normal and shiny...

I cleaned his litter box yesterday and nothing looked out of the ordinary...

You think maybe it's nothing?:yahoo:
