Ok so I've clicked with all of my rabbits (excluding my 4 newbies that are still getting used to things), but I had a question about rabbit to human bonding. I've heard it's not quite typical since humans are thepredador and rabbitis theprey, etc. But my little Lera (my 14 week old havana girl) is showing attachment to me more so then any of my other rabbits.

First off, when I've had them out of their playpen and freeroaming playtime she and Bella used to go out together (when they were younger and Bella hadn't hit her 'moody' age yet). She never cared for being with Bella, who always likes to explore and never really iinteracts when she's out lol But Lera would come over (still does) to me and lay her head beneath my hand, not nudging, but would lay there until I would pet her, then she kicks out her back legs and stretches out fully.

She also runs to where I sit if a noise scares her, then clings to me for dear life.

She's quite comfortable with me and loves to go where ever I'm at and likes to lay down and snuggle.

The biggest thing is when I pet her face, I'll rub her forehead (which she melts for)with a finger and she'll return the favor and lick my fingers; like in a 'you groom me I'll groom you' kind of way; but continuous and wont stop unless I do and then she'll pick it up when I start again.

Normal or bonding behavior? She's been this way for a while and she's more and more needy and loving every day it seems; not that I'm complaining I'd just like to know what it all means. :biggrin2:

Oh she's definitely bonding with you! It's possible for buns to bond with humans, sure. Lots of members here have special bonds with their bunnies, including myself. You may not bond as closely with every single one of your buns, but if you have a whole herd, there's usually one or two who touch your heart and they feel the same way about you :)

When she comes to you for comfort it's a sure sign that she does not see you as a predator. Licking you is bigtime loving you. Some bunnies are lickers and some are not but this back and forth between you two is as sweet for her as it is for you, that's for sure!

Congrats on winning the ever-elusive heart of a bunny :)
