Is it okay to keep a neutered male with a unspayed female? Are they hard to bond? She would eventually get spayed (I know the health risks and want the best for my bun) but it may be a few months before I get the money together (christmas emptied savings)

Thanks!

I did it with Stuart and Evie. However, the bond didn't take until she was spayed. Too hormonal, annoying the tar out of him with her cranky princess ways (humping, grunting, general cussedness). It probably would have been better for me (& for their relationship) to wait.

If you try bonding and it immediately takes, well,, great :)
If not, I wouldn't press the issue... just do playdates regularly. Some buns seem to have pretty long memories when it comes to personal conflicts :D. If she is particularly "amorous", he may get frustrated with her advances fairly quickly. You'll figure out the personalities pretty quick :p

I had to wait until I spayed my female, her scent drove him crazy! And she was just too nervous. Once they were both fixed the bond was a breeze. Now they can't get enough of each other :)
