I couldn't find anything on the internet pertaining to my issue so I'm really hoping someone can help here.**I recently adopted a 5 year old male neutered rabbit to be best friends with my 6 year old spayed female rabbit. While she seems to tolerate him he seems consumed by her. He is constantly trying to mount her which I perceive as normal but now he seems to not have any interest in his hay or water; just her. I have only had him one week so I don't know if this behavior is normal and he will soon stop but I'm just really worried about his eating/drinking habits. They are housed in separate cages when I am not home and are free to roam as they please when I am home. He will just stare at her from his cage. :/*

What have I done to this little man rabbit?? Any help/advice would be so very much appreciated!

How long ago was he neutered? It can take 6-8 weeks for his hormones to dissipate after being neutered, so he could still be hormonally urged to mate.

However, he should still be eating and drinking. Is he really not eating and drinking much at any time, have you been monitoring his water and food levels throughout the day? Have you tried removing him from her presence and seeing if he does better? Alternatively, it could be that he is not used to the type of hay and pellets you are offering, see if you can get the same kind he was on before you adopted him.
