I noticed tonight my bunny has some blood in her urine. She is going the same amount she normally does, so it does not look like she is struggling to go. I noticed 2 different spots tonight, one was just a small spot and the other was a bit larger. There was also some normal looking urine.

Her cage is cleaned everyday so this just started today. I'm going to call the vet in the morning, but I'm freaking out so I thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas.

Can you give us a better description of the urine. Was there blood clots in the urine? Or was it a red color? Can you post a picture of it?

lots of vegy,s can cause a red urine,,but blood is blood-,you are doing the right thing-see the exotic specialist,a.s.a.p--let me know what comes of this,..sincerely james waller:big wink:

As others have said, blood in the urine is more like clots or swirls, rather than an overall red tint. A red tint to the urine as a whole comes from plant pigments, not blood. However, causes of blood in the urine include urinary infection, uterine infection, uterine cancer, bladder stones, and other urinary tract issues. They're all rather serious and require rapid vet attention.
