Biting

Hi everyone,
i don't know if some bunnies are just like this but mine is biting me ALOT. everytime i take him out of his cage and bring him out to play he runs around and then comes and bites me...i didn't do anything to him.
he is doing this really often..not hard enough for me to bleed..but pretty hard.
what should i do?

If he is older than 4 months he needs to be neutered.
I had a bun once that bit me really really bad..it was just those male hormones.
once neutered he calmed down a lot.

he just turned 3 months soi dont think he is old enough.

Agreed!

I would also say, just don't take him out of his cage abruptly. That will maybe cause him to not trust you, so, if you can refrain from that a bit, ( I know it can be difficult cuz they're so cute!) but, it will reward you in the long run. We've done it and it works! So cute! They'll just start to come to you on their own, it's really cute and very rewarding feeling.

When he bites, gently press his head down and keep it there. Not overly hard, but he needs you to be dominant. He will need to be neutered, but try to get this habit under control now also. My Bo is 4 years old, neutered andstarted to nipto let me know he's displeased. We are currently working to stop it. He has caused me to bleed before. Good luck He'll do fine, just try to help him along.

That sounds like very good advice. My brand new seven week old netherland dwarf bit my son today and made him bleed. None of my rabbits have ever bitten and this was completely unprovoked
