So when I first got Conan he liked to mark a corner of a room outside his cage by a closet. Since the room is carpeted and we rent, this was quite an annoying situation since he uses his litterbox just fine. So I cordoned off the area using a few boxes and some coroplast.

Near 2 months go by, and all is well until 2 nights ago where he managed to squeeze through my block and mark up the place. No biggie, I just made it more difficult. He managed to do it again, only this time I have no idea how he managed it (I doubt he jumped over it, I set is pretty high). Clever rabbit.

Today I decided to just set some wee pads down (until I get carpeting) and let him have at it. He was so excited he peed twice, and binkied three times while exploding poo drops on each hop all inthe span of five minutes! It was hilarious, if a bit messy. While me and the wife were watching he then decided to eat his poop (not just his cecals) and pick his pee. Sigh...I just don't get the excitement. Of course if he stops going to the litter box hen Ill have to close up that little area (about 4sq ft) again. Anything I could do to prevent that? I've tried vinegar on the spot, it doesn't repel him apparently.

Could you put another litter box there. If not, you could try really getting the pee smell out so that he doesn't feel the need to continually remark. Vinegar won't work. You need something like Nature's Miracle to really get rid of it.

I tried a litter box originally. He would just pee around it. I would move the box to the new spot, same thing. Its around that area is all hes interested. The litter box in his cage is 36in by 24 so he has ample room in his cage and Id rather not put another one that size in that space.

I find it amazing how fascinated bunnies can get with just a certain little portion of carpeting, whether it's peeing on it or chewing it up o_O

Update. I had to close off the area again, the pee was just way too much and he sort of stopped using his litter box. Shame, I liked having easy access to the closet again.
