It says he's not even the recordholder. Supposedly, that title goes to an114-pounder! That is unbelievable. Rabbits weighless than they look to me, so114 pounds would be bigger thanaVERY large dog.

Weighing in at about 40kg (88 lbs.)Bodmin demands whole lettuces and cabbages from its owner, MichaelAlford of Essex, England to satisfy its appetite. Next to a rabbit ofnormal size, Bodmin’s proportions are astounding – he’s almost sixtimes as big. The biggest rabbit in the world weighed 52 kgs (114 lbs).Bodmin, named after the Beast of Bodmin, is almost certain to exceedthe record."

I wonder if he comes with a saddle...

Giant Rabbit Is As Big As 3-Year-Old
POSTED: 4:48 pm EDT July 19, 2004

UPDATED: 5:14 pm EDT July 19, 2004

A 27-pound rabbit from Holland isbelieved to be the world's longest rabbit, according to a Local 6 Newsreport.

Roberto the 2-year-old ContinentalGiant is almost 4 feet long and sleeps on a dog's bed because he can'tfit into a normal-sized hutch. Roberto is larger most 3-year-oldchildren, according to the report.

Although Roberto is believed to be theworld's biggest bunny, Guinness World Records said it has stoppedlisting "biggest animal" titles out of fear that it may lead to peopledeliberately overfeeding their pets to win the coveted title.

Continental Giant rabbits can live forup to 12 years, suggesting that with at least 10 years left, Robertomay still have a bit of growing to do.

Roberto (love that name!) looks a lot like Bodmin. I never heard of a Continental Giant, but they are pretty!

27 pounds is a lot more believable!

I think we have more Continental Giants in the UK than Flemish Giants(I could be wrong there). In May, at a Rabbit Care Day in Manchester, aman came with two Continental Giants (he has 5 altogether). They wereamazing, and I managed to get a couple of pics.
