We need a new bunny house!

Parade magazine is sponsoring a challenge and giving away $500,000 to
charities whose supporters have attracted the most unique donors to
their cause using new and innovative online tools. They are giving $50,000
to 10 charities.
My cause is to raise funds to build a new bunny house. With rabbits being
the third most frequently surrendered animal at shelters, there are
more unwanted bunnies than there are homes. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
currently has over 125 rabbits housed in three separate buildings along with nine runs that have no indoor access. Although Kanab is in Southern Utah, it gets very cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer. It would be ideal if all the rabbits had indoor/outdoor access to get relief from the weather extremes. Also, the outside areas for the bunnies are in the lovely red sand of Southern Utah. Unfortunately, this sand is not good for all the tunnels that bunnies love to excavate. The sand doesn't
hold up and can collapse in on bunnies. The staff members also have towash the
litterboxes in the same area that the bunny food is prepared in because there is no other area. The dogs and cats of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary have all received many new buildings over the past few years. It's time the bunnies had a modern, safe, sanitary building of their own.
