Hello everyone!

I have gone ahead and adopted a male friend for my rabbit. He is being neutered on Thursday and I will bring him home after that. I've never had a male rabbit before... is there anything different that I should expect from him behavior wise? I won't be introducing them for a good month after his surgery, but would it be okay to put his ex pen next to my girl bunny?

Thanks so much!

Good luck on Thursday. I had both my boys (Dobby & Kreacher) neutered. Had no problems with the surgery and after a couple of days, it was like nothing ever happened.

Just kept them quiet for a few days afterwards, and it seem like they were back to their ole selves in no time.

And I don't think there would be a problem having them side by side. They can get to know each other that way before you actually bring them together.

Wishing you all the luck with your new bun.

The funny thing about rabbits is they all have individual personalities--neutering helps to mellow some and will mostly stop hormone driven behavior in males like spraying and trying to use your arm or leg for something not meant to be in a normal setting. The only noticeable difference was a lessening of hormone driven territorial behavior with most but not all.
