In my extra time at the cottage i'll write up some Beauty Reviews. Then, when I get home I write them up on a blog I made specifically for that.
So far I've done a lot of CoverGirl items, and now just moving into non-drugstore things. Like, Lush and MAC, and Avon.
I've done a few so far, about 6-7 and have a little list of items I think people would like to read a review on.

Does anyone have suggestions of products to try, specifically (not just a brand, and actual product)
I have so much stuff, I probably have it here. It doesn't have to be just makeup, but it must be a beauty product.

I thought about doing my reviews on video, and uploading them on youtube.. but i'm a very awkward talker, I mean when I talk i'll blank out for like 2 minutes and forget what i'm talking about, so writing is my thing.

:)

I would love to find a good bar soap that is not tested on animals and leaves my skin feeling nice. It would also be good if it didn't cost an arm an a leg. I already know I don't like glycerin soaps. Fragrance doesn't really bother me, but I don't like really flowery scents.

Write a script and read it off. I used to do that for my youtube videos. Anything organic, not tested on animals and not full of crap chemicals would be great. Most gurus on youtube review mainstream makeup.

I know dove doesn't test on animals, and they have a very low glycerin count.

I use only higher name brand makeup, but I am not sure on organic/ ect makeup.

Cargo I know is organic, animal free, and what not but none of their makeup lasted on me. I only liked their lip gloss.

I just like to read about skincare..because I literally have tried everything :p

I'm not sure about specific products, but I'm looking forward to your reviews of LUSH stuff! I just tried their henna hair dye, and loved it, but haven't used any of their other things. I like that most of their stuff is vegan and it's all cruelty-free.
I only use cruelty-free stuff, so I mostly stick to Urban Decay, Smashbox, Too Faced, etc. For skin care, I am interested in things with no parabens, etc.

CRAP,
sorry beth, I accidentally edited your post.

-My first message-
I could've sworn they have a tiny green bunny on their packaging?
..maybe it was another brand.
I think I need to do my research.
Btw guys, MAC is cruelty free (best be, for the price!)
Although, my favorite lipstick brand (rimmel..yeah, even over MAC) isn't. So.. I will be switching. Which brings some lipstick reviews and stuff.

Actually, Dove is owned by Unilever, which DOES test on animals.

The unfortunate fact is all companies have to test on animals..or use only chemicals/products that were previously tested and found OK to use..by them or by another company.

It is a requirement for CDC and FDA regulations for products to bypass certian testing, including some animal testing.

I am not saying it is right, but truely escaping animal testing is hard. Beth, you know how I feel about going all the way with thigns ;)

Plus, most animal testing is done humanely..I think PETA and the word "Testing" freaks people out..

Pigs are almost always used to test medical products which are required to go through a certian amount of non-human testing (Although know with e. coli strains we can sometimes test on bacteria and not animals). That is why as a true vegan no modern medicene can be used, vaccinacions, or a lot of modern makeup/skin care, which complicates living truly vegan is more difficult than the average person knows.

Kudos who all use animal free products (I try also!) but just a little info for you ;)

Real quick, I don't know if you are just animal free or vegan, but MAC uses beeswax which you can't use if you are vegan :)

Dove may be a "cruelty-free line" within the corporation that is Unilever. Like Burt's Bees supposedly doesn't test on animals, but it is owned by Clorox, which does. The Body Shop is owned by L'Oreal, Herbal Essences and Aussie are owned by Clairol, etc.

I know some people are OK with buying a cruelty-free product even if it's ultimately produced by a corporation that isn't cruelty-free, but I am personally not comfortable with that. *shrug*

Anyway. I really like some of MAC's stuff, and it's actually less expensive than most of the other cosmetics I like.

eta: I've done a lot of research on animal testing and cosmetics, thanks! ;) I know pretty much everything currently in use was tested on animals at some point in history, but it's important to me that I don't support companies that are constantly developing new things that, by law, have to be tested. Personally, I don't think that sort of "innovation" is really necessary to create, say, a new blush or mascara, there's plenty of available ingredients already.
I'm not trying to debate, that's just how I feel. I'd much rather pay $19 for Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara than $8 for CoverGirl LashBlast, since I know Tarte is a cruelty-free company. I just have to find other things I can save money on so I can afford to do that. That's all. :)

+1000000000

I pretty much gave up on all cosmetics after I went vegan. Pure Cocoa butter or Shea butter, apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil and baking soda is all I really use for my beauty related needs.

Beth I was stating that you didn't know I was just posting a general FYI ;)

In fact, it seems you and I agree completley on the topic.

When it comes to makeup, I don't agree on animal testing :)

Myia, I'm not vegan. Faaar from it ( See, i'm drinking a coffee as i write this. ;) )
I'm just nice to animals.

I just don't agree with animal testing because I read a horrible story on how they test things on bunnies, and it made me physically ill.
It's a bit out there, so i'm not even sure if its true (because laws and such)

Before I read this I just thought they smacked lipstick on a pig and waited to see if tere were any side effects.

ANYWAYS,
I will be writing a bunch this weekend -supposed to rain Saturday- :)
