i love my rabbit very much but throught the night he has started banging usualy early hours in morning, i am pretty sure that this is due to a fox i have tryed all the obvious, covering his cage, bedding out his cage but he is sooo big that no matter how much bedding we still hear him. i know its not his fault but we are now getting compliants from other neigbours and causing us problems. some one suggested getting another rabbit but i dont realy see how that will calm him wen they fox is near. i have also tyed moving him into the house at night but this doesnt help. any suggestions welcomed thanks

Try giving him as much time outside of the cage as possible in the day time. It might not just be the fox, if he isn't having regular times outside where he can run around he will thump to make you come and pet him.

Try covering the entire bottom of the cage with towels folded over. It should muffle the sound. I don't know what sort of property you're living on, but is it possible to block access for the fox from your property?

Can you not have an indoor rabbit. I'd be terrified as I'm sure he is knowing their is a fox ouside near his cage.

To me the rabbits safety comes first. It's so much nicer having indoor rabbits you can interact with them so much more.

:yeahthat: i live in the country surrounded by a healthy fox population. even tho the garden is secure with the house on one side and 6ft walls on the other three, and i have 2 dogs, the bunnies are still locked in at night.

many neighbours have chickens which keeps the foxes fed but i dont want to take any chances. bunny safety is paramount at night:)

i have made the cage as safe as posible we even built a run that the hutch fits in so then hes got two lots of safety(if that makes sense) but he we did try him in the house bt he bangs in the night still and in the day to go out and he gets loads of exercise as his gae dor in the day is left open so he has the cage and the run to go at
