Hi!

I will post updates and pictures of Bailey as often as possible... He is my first bunny, and I am loving him! He's just over a year old... I got him last May, his birthday is at the end of April.
As some of you may have already read, I spent all last summer with him, but went off to college in August. Due to traveling and studying abroad, I haven't been home since October. So he really has been under the care of my mom, and she has done a great job with me leading her through it! But I got home a few days ago, and I am spending tons of time with him re-bonding. This morning was lots of fun- we played blanket tag and cuddled...

here's Bailey!

Welcome to the forum!

What a little cutie! It must be hard to be away from him for so long. That's great that your mom does such a wonderful job with him while you're away:).

Awww Bailey is adorable! You should have your Mom come on here and tell us some of Baileys exploits while you were gone.. curious as to how he became to be named Bailey?

Well, when I originally got Bailey from the pet store he was a she! They told me I had a baby girl bunny. So i named (her) Bailey and proudly took her home. Over the summer, I started to suspect something was up, as (she) seemed pretty territorial and was spraying... :)

Then, when (she) went to the vet to be fixed, we found out Bailey was a boy! My mom still slips and calls him a "her" and so now we have a tendancy to call him Bailey-boy. I was lucky Bailey is both a girl and guys name!

~~~~ UPDATES!!! ~~~~
Sad day today, had to put my 7 1/2 yr old ferret to sleep.... :(
But! Bailey and I leave tomorrow morning to drive down to Florida! He has been really good in the car before, but I am still a little nervous, as it is a long trip. (We are originally from RI, but I go to school at Eckerd College in St. Pete, FL, and I have an internship there this summer. I could not possibly leave him for a whole summer...)
Wish us luck! (or give us advice?) :)
Very sorry to hear the loss of your ferret (you could post a photo and tribute to him/her in the Rainbow Bridge section on here if you wish.)
Good luck in FL - what kind of travel pen do you have for Bailey? Freezing water in plastic water bottles is a good way to keep them cool on the drive and they can lick the bottles condensation for water as well. How long of a drive is it?
Again, good luck and hopefully others will chime in with suggestions.
