Moss used to be the perfectly trained litter box bunny, but since he got sick last month, he's been having very bad litter box habits. He poops all over the floor of his cage and pees on his hay pile! At first I was like "Oh, well, i'll just re-train him to use the box!". So I started putting his bunny berries in the litter box so he'd go in there. He does occasionally, but he still poops all over the floor and pees on his hay. It's getting annoying, so how can I get him to 'go' in his litter box where he's supposed to?

Thanks!

Oh, and something a little off-topic, are peppers poisonous to rabbits? I think so, but i'm not sure.

I could be wrong but I thought they could eat bell peppers. Others I have no idea about.

Can you put a hay rack above his litter box? Also, you could put some of the peed on hay in the litter box so he will smell his pee in it. Other than confining him until he starts to do better using his litter box, I have no idea.

I mean they can eat them (bell peppers), but I doubt that there are much nutritional value in them they are mostly wather

Well, this is why I wanted to know about the peppers: I heard that all mammals can taste spicy things, ( and people use that to keep squirrels out of bird feeders, since birds can't taste spicy ). So I thought that I could use that against Zaeo, my other rabbit. I know it sounds mean, but I was wanting to use ground pepper to put on the wood chips in Zaeo's litter box to keep him from eating them. I eventually just stopped using wood chips, but I thought I might as well ask. :p

Really?? My Merlin must not have gotten that memo because I've seen him sneaking rapid licks at chilli sauce (the real Asian stuff, spicy as hell) on a number of occasions. Boyfriend says he's a spicehead like me :p
