so I have had baby bunnies in the past but the new litter that I have, the three little dwarf bunnies I have a Question about. They are around 17 days old now and I try to handle them but they are very jumpy. Will not let me hold them and just run away. Is this common in baby bunnies? Or is it just because they are dwarf bunnies?
What should I do handle them more?

Thanks, I just want these babies to be very social because they are rescue's and will be finding new homes soon.

Three weeks is still young, they are more like Mexican Jumping Beans at that age! LOL! But getting them used to being held is a good idea.

Try holding them in both hands, snuggly and enclosed, for a few minutes, several times a day. They feel more secure that way. (You know how they "bundle" or "bind" little babies in blankets? Works for bunnies too... hold them securely... so they can not move).

If the mother is high strung, they may be too, but handling them a lot will go a long way to calming them down. Some rabbits really hate it when their legs hang down. Make sure their feet are supported.

I like to hold the babies up against my body. They are secure, supported and they can feel my body warmth. Seems to calm them...

thanks, yea these babies are crazy when they see me coming but after holding them for a min they settle down. I guess they are still just really young. Yea mom is a little high strung too but she is a dwarf and thats how alot of them are

my dwarfs can be like little jumping beans but they do have quite a lot of energy its quite good to get them used to cuddles and even little runs around. they are so cute to watch at that age as they are all butt :p
