Baby Bird

We have a baby bird in our garden and we haven't seen its mum for a while hes been sitting there for about an hour and he can't fly - what should we do?

Just leave him there. She's nearby most likely.

Okay Hopefully a cat doesn't get him before she comes back - thats what i'm worried about :?
