Juno is 6 months old and back in my days when I raised Hollands, that was the mark for starting my breeding does.
She was very happy to see Axel and flattened herself right out with her tail way up.
Axel was very happy for a lady friend to come a calling to his large cage. I did a repeat breeding 8 hours later (he was like "Oh, you can bring her in right here, come on, let's go....") and now we wait. I have a nice sturdy new nestbox, straw for building nests and now the wait begins.
I will be palpating to see if we have kits in production. I am hoping Axel improves on Juno's crown and her coat texture (very soft but still roll-back - Axel's coat is tighter and the last judges gave him better marks). The breeders both bunnies came from will be waiting to see what we have as well. At the last show I was at, Axel's daughter won big - I think it was either best of breed or best opposite.
Wish me luck as I return to breeding with hopes I will have some new buns for the fall shows.
