This past week at the shelter, I spent over anhour and a half with the bunnies. Mostly it was making salads, refilling hay, rearranging toys, all the while trying to avoid Patches'lunging jaws of doom (he does not like being at the shelter :X:()

But I spent about a half-hour each with Flora and Duke. They're bothreally shy, Duke is extremely nervous of loud noises, strange people, etc. But they're still sweet and affectionate, so I just sat with themfor awhile and tried to calm them with a gentle touch (it worked, Dukemelted into an ooey-gooey puddle of bunny love :p)

Well, as of yesterday they've both been adopted. It makes me sadbecause I really looked forward to going in and seeing them, but theyreally did deserve a nice, quiet forever home. It's just bittersweet, Iguess...

awwww ,thats the hardest part of working inshelters and doinganimal rescue the bittersweet feeling offalling in love with an animal, having to let themgo, but knowing theywill be going to awonderfull new life ,

Aww it is lovely that you gave them all the lovethey needed while they where in your care. Hopefully your love haspassed on to the new owners and they will be very happy in their newhomes! I can understand you would be sad to see them go, just as youwere getting through to them, it must be hard saying goodbye.

Well, Patches (the bunny with the jaws of deaththat attacked me whenever I got near his cage and gave me a massivebruise :p) got adopted too! He seemed to reserve his hatred for me andonly me :?, so I'm glad someone was able to find his soft spot.

And we didn't get any new bunnies this week, so that's always a good thing :) We're down to six...

You've got such a wonderful outlook on life!!! lol.... It's too badthat he had some weird bunny vendetta against you, but it's so sweet ofyou to be happy that someone was able to get in touch with his innercuddle-bunny.

Yeah, I don't think I'll miss wearing extrapadding and tossing his salad into his bowl (literally) :p He was onebunny that was really unhappy in the shelter environment, he needed hisown space and his own sense of control in his environment. Hopefullyhe'll adjust to home life well. I'll sure miss him though, he was quitethe cute lil' bugger.
