i love dogs and all but as soon as they start sniffing at my bunnies :X

Over the roads dogs always escape they ahev a lurcher and a rottweiler - stupid stupid they also have a 3 year old little girl who this morning was running down the road bare foot chasing a football -

WHy can't they keep them under control - if the bunnies had been out they would of been eaten right there :grumpy:

For gods sake - this man from down our street just went and returned them - ARRRGGGHHH

You should report them. Rottweiler's shouldnt be off of the owners property without a muzzle on anyway. IMO, unless people can keep they're dogs under control away from people and other animals then they shouldnt be off-leash where they can get to people and animals. When we went to a country fair "hunts man" (ex-fox hunters) were in the ring on horses with 24 pairs of adult dogs and they were every where despite them saying "these dogs are very obedient and will never leave the masters side un-commanded" - we had half of them scaring the cr*p out of the owls and we had to box them up. Then they brought out pups (14 pairs I think) and they were running everywhere again scaring the owls again and all the "handlers" were whipping the dogs to get back into the ring and picking them up by the scruffs (these were minimum 15lb pups) and throwing them back into the rings, :X. But yeah, you should report the dogs to the coucil/police and they will have the owners put up secure fencing that the dogs cant get out of or if the owners refuse they will take the dogs away (well, its likely.).

I dont think it is fair to say all Rotti's should be leashed just because of the breed, to me that is like saying all Pitts are bad?

I personally think all dogs should be leashed regardless of the breed, and heck there are some kids around that need to be on leashes  they act more wild then some animals, lol, just kidding.

I feel your pain Becca, dogs off leashes and running loose is a MAJOR pet peeve of mind and drives me insane, but some people just dont care. THe best thing that can be done is for the owner to be reported for having their dog running loose, not that it will do antyhing (well if your spca's are like most around here) but if there are reports then if somet hing happens it would be easier to go after the people down the road.

Wait i just was re reading this and i am assuming now that the dog was on your property. This would have me steamed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not tolerate this at all and the owner would be well aware that if it happened again the dog would be kept in my yard till animal control got there to pick it up.

The thing is when I said about reporting them the parents just said noo we can;t do that - for gods sake does no-one listen to me about the serious things about vets and dogs sniffing at buns - ARGHHH
