How old is he? Is heneutered? Does he at least pee in his box? I reallydon't mind the poops- my spayed female often poops in her cage butoutside of her box. Have you changed the box or the litterrecently?
Things that I have found that help: spay/neuter, moving the litterboxto where they want to use it, putting the hay rack above the litterbox, keeping the rest of the cage clean and putting stray poops/papertowels with wee on them in the box, using a mild vinegar solution onpee areas outside of the box.
