My 1 and a half year old Bruno seems quite chubby to me.. When he lays down, his fat spreads from under him and he has a dewlap. I can grab at loose skin on his back, and his fur is so thick it's hard to feel his ribs.. Definitely has quite the tummy!
Is this normal for the french lops? Are they just more stockier and husky? I have to get a scale to weigh him, but I would estimate him at between 11-12lbs. He gets lots of veggies and hay, less than 1/4 cup of pellets a day and only a piece of fruit or carrot once a week.. can't understand why he seems to be so chubby! He lives in an almost 5foot by 8foot pen with play time, so lots of exercise.. is it just his breed?
Didn't know if this should go in the rabbitry or the nutrition.. but since it's more about his breed type, thought it should go in here.
