It states "5 or more rabbits, owned by 3 or more breeders." Right now Kit's showing her 3 Cals, and I'm showing a Flop. She has her Cals under Kitty's Kool Kritters, and mine are under West Wind's Rabbitry. Now that we're amassing more rabbits, she's going to pick babies from Adeline's and/or Cher's. Will that count as 2 separate breeders? Or will that be only one, since we're at the same household?

She's in charge of deciding which does and bucks to breed together (which, right now, is easy...we only have 1 Cal buck. haha). She'll also be the one doing the decision making with her Flops. And that's also why I've had her listening to all the Cal judges at the shows we've been to, so she knows what to look for.

Anyway, just wondering how that whole leg thing works. Although I'm positive that it'll be a while before our stock is up to snuff enough to be competitive, it doesn't hurt to know stuff. :)

If i had to guess i would say as long as the name is different then it would count as separate breeders. When i take comments if they have the same last name but different first names i count 2 exhibitors on the comment cards. Not sure if secretarys keep them the same as what i wrote though.

Thanks, Sarah. The original plan had been for her to show her Flops in youth, but it doesn't appear as if they're very popular for youth rabbits. :-( So that got me to wondering how that would work, as far as the number of exhibitors there were.

I know many times when there are not enough exhibitors that a brother or sister of the main exhibitor will enter bunnies just to push for that leg.

Well, at the last show, there was only 1 rabbit in the youth sr. buck and 2 in the sr. does. That would be a lot of pushing. Even the open had small numbers, but I think it's because it's a fairly small show. I hope the next one is bigger.

It would be two separate breeders. Afterall, you don't show under your rabbitry name, but your personal name. ;) My sister and I both co-owned our rabbitry, and she showed rabbits under her name, I under my name, that we both bred, and that counted as 2 breeders.

Thanks, Emily. I wasn't sure how that would work, since we're at the same house. Now I have to out breed my daughter, so she doesn't kick my butt. haha
