I talked to my vet tonight and she told me which kind of flea medicine to get. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning.
I know where to apply it, but has anyone ever tried to do this on a mini-rex? How do you get down to her skin with all that fluff?

Also, if she doesn't have a lot of fleas, do i still give her the same dose? I've only seen like three fleas on her this week.

Give her the dose for her weight. With fleas and pets, there are often many more eggs and earlier life stages present than the adults you see.
Which flea medicine did your vet recommend?

Went to the pet store today to pick up Advantage. The orange one is not in fact, for kittens. She's under 4 lbs, so I got the kitten one, not the orange one.

I'm terrified to put it on her! I guess I just do it on that spot on her neck between her ears, like you would for a cat? The tube seems so big for such a little bunny. I'm afraid to use the whole thing, especially since I've only seen like three fleas on her, total.

I'm definitely going to wait to do it until tomorrow morning so I have all day to watch her and be sure she doesn't have a reaction.

--advantage for kittens,-perfect--please read the directions very carefully,--all insecticides are lethal--and placement on the rabbit is as a kitten--back of the neck area,,--i use advantage religiously--however some others will weigh in with their favorite,--and yes, observe for non favorable reactions,--sincerely james waller--:big wink:

It should go between the shoulder blades, not between the ears.

Remember that flea eggs will also live in your carpeting, etc. Be sure to wash any bedding she has and also vacuum. Some people will buy a flea collar and put it in the vacuum bag/canister to kill the fleas (but I would not recommend putting a flea collar on a rabbit).

We've been vacuuming every day. I still haven't seen a flea on her in over two days (little snuggle is being so patient with me as I check her), but I'm going to put the medicine on tomorrow.
When you say between her shoulder blades you mean in that cute little dip in the back of her neck, yes? I've read several people say they put the drops behind the ears, but I just want to be sure I'm going to do it right.

It my "cute little dip" you mean the super soft spot where their ears rest against their back, that sounds about right. I just didn't want them between her ears on her head. Part of the reason that between the shoulder blades works well with them is that they can't just turn around and lick it off.

yeah, the little dip between the shoulder blades would be good.

they metabolize revolution/advantage faster than cats and dogs do, hence the big kitten dose for a little bunny.
