I was in Thailand for about 6 weeks, Kana was in the care of my boyfriend's mother who raises rabbits (I adopted Kana from her), and I just noticed Kana's middle toenail on her front paw looked strange, like there was an abnormally long tuft of fur or fur getting ready to shed. I looked more closely, and it appears the fur is growing out of her nail bed and looks like it is fused with the nail. I can feel the nail but I can't see it, and it appears to be lifting upwards. I can't get a closer look just yet until my boyfriend comes home, she is unaltered and is a squirmer when I try to hold her still. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, and I clip her nails regularly.
Anyone ever had this happen before? She has a pre-spay appointment with her vet next week, unless there is a reason to be alarmed it can be checked out then.
