I know some breeders have little fun side projects they work on like lionlops and others

Does anyone have any side projects they are working on?

I am getting a pair of Velveteen Lops soon. They will be a very small project 4-5 holes in all (including Jr. cages).

I have seen a few at some shows around here and they are so pretty.

My husband isn't a big fan of my rabbits but we were at the fair the other day and he saw a mini rex and touched it and said wow I love this rabbit why don't you get one of those they are soooo soft. Well I already have 3 different breeds.......but am tempted to get one just cuz he is so smittened with them. I am looking for a tri colored one......maybe :biggrin2:

I've tried lionlops before...mostly as an accident because my first breeding was unintentional between a mini lop and a lionhead. They had a great personality and all of them lopped (I've heard the Holland mixes don't always lop or stay lopped).

I got a BEW Holland and Chocolate Holland recently. I'd like to work at bettering these colors. I have a VM doe that I'm going to put with the BEW when he's old enough. She has much better form. I'd like to breed in my best buck to get the best form possible with the end result (hopefully) being a BEW with the best form possible. That same VM doe also carries chocolate, so I'd like to do the same when the chocolate buck matures.

Some day down the road I'd like to do orange Hollands. True oranges seem to be harder to come by...some have tried to pass off creams as oranges. I just like that color and wouldn't mind working sometime in the future.

I would also love to see a pic of a steel mini!

I forgot to mention I am also wanting to start a small project to Sable Point & Siamese Sable Mini Rex

I have a broken steel mini rex, I should get pictures someone. She is about 6 years old and spayed, a very sweet and pretty girl.

I have a project, it is called Project D, haha. Not currently talking about it though *wink* Just on the first generation so maybe once the second gets started I may talk about it.

I have Chocolate Holland Lops. Fiesty buggers, every since chocolate I have had hates being handled, even the ones I raised.

what you call "fun side projects" are my whole herd. I work with all 4 colors of Otter Hollands, and also work with Chocolates, and Chocolate agouti's. :D Some of my best stock is fun colors. I have a super clean broken cream doe that everyone is super impressed with whenever I take her to a show. She took BOB at one of her first shows at 3 months old! :D

This is another interesting color. Thought she was a broken orange until I got a better look at her. She is a Broken Chocolate Tort. :D
