Ants?! Help!

There are ants that look like small carpenter ants in my bunnies' wood hutch. I read about the bun-safe bee repellant but is there something that I could use for ants?!:dunno

Is your hutch off the ground?

A sprinkling of food grade diatomaceous earth around the hutch perimeter may deter some bugs.
