Hi, me and Larry are new here. Larry is a little over a year old bunny I bought as a tiny baby from a pet store. I figure he is a mix rabbit but thought it would be interesting to know what people think he's a mix of. He is as sweet as can be. Loves to lick people and is very friendly.

At 5 pounds, could be any number of breeds contributing to his lineage. He has a rollback coat and is steel in color - a common color in Mini Lops as well as many, many other breeds. The Mini Lops also have a rollback coat.

LOL! On one of the yahoo groups that I am a member of, someone posted a topic similar to this one. This was one of the replies; :)

"Hmm... :) I went and looked, and pondered...

And thought....

And wondered....

And looked again...

And then I hit the books...

And online....

And after every single avenue was totally exhausted, I can say with reasonable certainty that....

You have rabbits. :) Congratulations!

*grin* I'm such a pain when I'm teasing.... :) Seriously, there are times when that's really all you can say is that 'it's a RABBIT, far as I can tell'. Love 'em anyway and keep rabbiting!"

This is a hard one, I seen a rabbit just like him it was a Min Lop X Rex, but he looks like an Enderby X but there are.

I'm seeing some Netherland in the ears, and Californian in the size.

He is a handsome devil. I think my doe is drooling XD

He has so many things about him that remind me of a flemish giant. I would suspect he is a mix of a flemish and a smaller breed.

As an owner/breeder of Enderby island rabbits, this looks nothing like one.

It is a steel coloured rabbit (gold tipped black steel to be precise), I had a cross breed of this colour before, looks real pretty in person.

He looks a lot like my mini lop (mostly in his coat) but his earts arnt actually lopped...Maybe hes a mix between that and a larger breed?

Or he could be a mix of so many things at this point that there really isn't a way to guess a breed definitively.

My suggestion is you make up an awesome sounded breed and tell everyone thats what he is. :)

I agree about Netherland ears, but the rest is too hard to guess. Stewart was part Netherland and part Mini Lop--he ended up looking like a large Nethie but his ears were long and didn't lop. He was the prettiest Black otter we've ever seen and his fur was really long and really shiny. The only reason we know his lineage is because we knew the (accidental) breeder. Good luck. Pretty sure my first assessment was correct--rabbit!
