I went to visit some relatives this weekend, andtheir son no longer wanted his hamster, a Syrian male just under a yearold. The poor thing was not adequately housed, and traumatized fromrough handling, and I could just see it being foisted on another kidwho would do the same. So I said, "Sure, I'll take him," and Napsterthe hamster officially joined our clan.

He's got a much bigger cage that caters to his lil' hammy instinctsnow, and he's settling in (still pretty skittish). Of course, when Itell him he's a good and hansome little boy in a high voice, my rabbitscome running (I must be talking to them, right?)

He is very sweet and cute, and quite entertaining. The domestic zoo is growing...

M.E., so sweet ofyou to rescue that little one. I'm so happy that he'll beable to live out the rest of his days in happiness.:)

Well, he's still really skittish, so I'm tryingto let him just settle in. But while I was setting up his new cage, Ilet him run around in his ball, and he rolled right past the bunnies'pen. If rabbits could drop their jaws, I think mine would have. Theyjust stared, wide eyed, at the little ball that seemed to move on it'sown (I don't know that they realized there was an animal inside)
