An OMIGOD moment

I am cleaning the house today - sorting summer clothes for winter clothes and I hear the door open - I am expecting Andy to come home from school and Benn was taking the SATs so I thought it was one of them.

"Benn?"

"No.."

"Andy?!"

"No..."

And then it dawned on me...

"Greg?!!!"

"Yes!"

An OMIGOD moment for me - CA did not work out for him - but he's glad he tried it and I am so glad to see him - he is Andy's best friend and they have known each other since kindergarten...

He said he is loving the fall colors and clear skies... and no freeways. He got in this morning and drove right here to see us...

It will be fun at dinner tonight hearing his stories - right now he is crashed on the sofa, waiting for Andy (who is on his way from school) and trying to rest after taking a red eye flight. Benn and Tim (hubby) will be in shock as well.

Wow....I am still in happy shock!

I definitely cried like he was one of my own... and almost cried when he came through the door...

He got on the ATV with Andy and off they went! Greg is singing the "Milo and Otis" song with his own twist - he sang the song originally to my late Belgian Draft Horse Liberty, with a Greg and Andy add in...

He plans on college in September 2010... in Brooklyn which will be cool as Benn wants to go to FIT in Manhattan and they will be near each other (provided they get in to their respective colleges)....

I am still in shock. Andy and Greg were taking turns riding the ATV... the sound of them running up and down the stairs was like when they were younger...and Greg is a funny kid - he will come up with sayings that just makes me laugh.

He came by to visit today - I was able to give him a meal of turkey a la king and he loved it... not for those watching their cholestrol intake but oh so good!

Can't take any of that cholestrol reducing meds - last series of bloodwork showed all sorts of new problems (low normal thyroid - I am almost a Synthroid candidate), high creatinine (kidney problem) and elevated liver function so the doc took me off the Pravachol... too bad as I had great numbers for the cholestrol!

Still enjoying my real butter, though... the kind that comes from a cow.

Greg stopped by this weekend and tonight - good to see him around again... made sure I fed him before he went on his way!

Me too! He will stop by on the weekends to relax with us... glad he feels like our farm is "home."
