As bunny moms of pure WHITE bunnies...how do youkeep them looking so good?? Keely is a mess already (not always usinglitter) With my smaller bunnies they had bedding in their cages to soakthings up til they got the hang of it. I put some cardboarddown in her tray last nite to hopefully soak up some of the yuck whenshe does so...but her feet are already getting yellow and shes got somespots on her side that are nasty...she's cleaning some of it but notall of it.

HELP!! How do you keep your boys so white?!?! (and I'm not buyingClorox bleach :p )

Also, do you guys think laying a piece of the soiled cardboard in thelitterbox would help? I can tell she's used it some due to theconsistency of the woodypet.

Thanks.

Considering she isonly 3 months it might take a while before she is completely litter boxtrained, but trust me she will get there! :D

I change Nimue's litter box every day, and if I dont he gets REALLY yellow feet!

Nimue is also a neat freak, everything hasto be just so or he goes NUTS! He is also always cleaning himself(makes me wonder if he is a girl)

Nimue had HORRIBLE litter box habits whenI got him, so he lived in a regular cage until he got to big for it. Bythe time he moved out of the cage he was litter box trained so he wasable to live in a cavy cage :)

PGG, I can't really help with the fur stains. Napoleon has always used his litter box, so he stays clean.

But, on the litter training thing, I have the same problem with my newlittle Fuzzy Lop, Toby. Every time I clean his litter box, Ihave to put some of his waste back on top of the clean WoodyPet so itwill smell right to him. If Keely pees and poos outside thebox, wipe the urine and poo up together and deposit it in the box(throw the towel out). The poo will smell like the pee andshe'll get the idea.

Apollo is usuaaly good about keeping himself clean. His feet usually get filthy when he goes outside.

I take a big bowl and fill it up with 3 inches of water.I add a half a bottle of peroxide. I soak his feet for a minute or twoand rub his feet to help clean them. I take him out, rinse his feet inthe sink or another bowl of clean water. I dry his feet really god.Usually the next day he is sparkling white again.

You can use the same thing for Keely's side too. Just use awash cloth and dip it in the peroxide water. Rinse her really good anddry her.

You may have to experiment with different litter boxes. She maynot like the style you have. With Athena I had to try four differentkinds before I finally found one she liked and would use.

Hope that helps.

Oh she likes it...I've seen her napping in it!!!:shock:She hops in there all the time...she does use itsome...just not all the time...she was in a wire cage bottom before..soI know this is all new to her. She's only 3 months (will bein 2 days)...So I figure it'll happen...just takes time....Just waswanting to know how to keep her clean in the meantime!

Thanks much!

So, the big lug will just sit there and let you soak his feet?? Sounds like its gotta be akward!!

I have one of those uhh square bucketsthey give you in the emergency room when you are going to be sick. Ithas a flat bottom and I just lay a hand towel in the bottom. UsuallyJeremy or Dale helps me but I've done it myself too.

I hope that helps.

I've been searching for a reply Buck made to aquestion I had about the same thing. He gave me advice likeTina's. I think he used 1/3 water, 1/3 peroxide & 1/3baking soda. GEEZ!! I wish I could find thatthread...:?

I'd try switching around her living quarters, some animals (like humans) want their set up to their liking, quitelike hamsters. I've also heard and tried diluted perioxide on stainsand they work really well.

I'm going to be trying these too.Loki's feet are white and the silly boy poos in his litterbox sometimesbut will not pee in it. The bottoms of his feet were prettydirty to begin with.

Judging by the size of Apollo, this sounds like an all dayjobto me LOL

Apollo is such a mush.Pick him up and he goes frombig boy bunny to a bag of water. He just goes limp:shock:. Usually ittakes only about 5 minutes. I give plenty of treats when I'm doneotherwise I get the bigole bunny butt. Then he spends 30 minutesgrooming himself because mom messed up his hair do.:p
