I'm thinking about getting a few alpacas. But on some of the websites that I've looked at they want 25,000 for a breeding female. I think that is a little ridiculous.
I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to get a few alpacas for a lot less money that a regular breeder.
I just want them for wool, not really to breed. So if there is an alpaca rescue that I've over looked that would be great too.
Thanks!

I found tis, don't know if its good or not, just saw the website : Hog Heaven Rescue Farm, Inc. - Alpacas
hogheavenrescue.org/adoptable/alpaca.htmlAlpacas. There is an adoption fee of $400.00, but because they are HERD animals, you must adopt two (unless you already have an Alpaca or a Llama).

Christina, thank you so much for finding that rescue for me!
I live in SC, but we're going to PA for a few days in March, and that rescue is only like an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. So we might be able to take a trailer up there and get some alpacas! Its completely do-able.
So thank you for showing that to me!

Thanks Tracy! It might be worth the drive! We just have to get our barn renovated for them, which should only take a few weeks.

And of course when I get them, there will be a ton of pictures! I'm so excited, I feel like a kid in a candy shop right now!
