So I don't know if anyone remembers seeing a post maybe about a month ago about my bunny having possible respiratory issues, but basically its been hardly wet (any only slightly at times!) since then. As of about friday, I switched to a different bedding from Yesterdays News. Its a simlar product, but different brand that was cheeper. Supposedly just paper though and not scented. LIke Saturday I noticed his nose looking alot wetter andthen yesterday and now today. I was cleaning his box this morning and as I scooped new litter in noticed a bunch of dust flying around from the new litter. Now I'm curious if that's not the cause. What do you think? The nasal discharge is pretty clear and not at all thick or anything. I haven't noticed sneezing either..

Thanks!

Ok~I took the litter box out (and he's using that corner just on the wire ) and I'm hoping that I'll see an improvement with none of that litter now.

Best way to tell if that caused it--to take it out and see if it changes (like you did). I have not found plain newspaper to be odor absorbing enough. I prefer wood stove pellets, which are low-dust, compostable, and cheap. Most litters made for cats are much dustier. I would keep an eye on it though--rabbits rarely have allergies, and dust usually causes sneezing, not runny noses. The change in seasons could be causing him to have a URI.
