Today to of my daughters had dental appointments at 1:30 and 2:00 It takes me an hour to get there so i picked my kids up and got into the town where the dentist is located and i get a phone call and the cancelled only one of my daughter appointment less than an hour before the appointment... we go in and find out why they only cancelled one and not the other one and here is what they said: we don't know why they didn't cancel the other one... and this is not the only time they did stupid stuff like that...

1 month ago my other daughter was scheduled for a root canal and they canceled after i got there... then 2 weeks ago we got there to finish the root canal and they get her in the back put her in the chair and then they told us they couldn't do that... also she was suposed to be fitted for a retainer and wouldn't even do that until the root canal is finished... they were suposed to do it the next day well the appointment they gave us is for oct.4... because of them my kids are missing to much school and when i said something about it they shrugged it off as if they didn't care...

I am so looking for a new dentist... my dad was going there and he had problems with them after he paid his bill in the office they sent him a bill for things they didn't even do.... so he turned them into the better buisness bureau...

sorry... I just needed to vent

if it was only once i could deal with that but 3 times in one month....its rediculous... we have to give them 2 days notice if we cancel... but i only get 1 hour... and its not like its an emergancy... they need to respect their patients... my husband took a vacation day we could have saved for something else to take us because my car is broke at the moment....

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

I can honestly say, what with all the crap I've had done, I know what goes when:shock:.

I have two root canals I never even got to the second step, which is to get a post and core, over a hopefully retained filling over the rt (Crown being the last expensive step:shock:another $500) . Haha, I let that go for a long time, the dentist said it wasn't a problem, but soon take care of it. Well, as many of you may know or not, when you get a root canal, they remove the nerves in each canal. They clean it and file it and you are suppposed to get it cored not a month later. You have no more pain, it is great, perfect $500 fix:shock:. But I didn't have ins at first, which is why I am still gonna lose those two. But, I still have another one to get posted/cored and crowned before it's too late:shock:.

What happens, is the tooth starts to absorb everything and decays quickly, but over time. It has lost it's innerds so to speak, but that is my story of root canals. I have had good experiences with each root canal, and afterwards. I have two teeth that had root canals that I didn't finish. It cost a grand for those two, both done at very different times. But, they both broke off at the gumline over time.

But the follow through is costly. I just got by how I could, for too long:shock:.

If you are out of pain after the intial visit, you're good, so to speak.;)

I definitely encourage you get everything finished. If you can. Finishing it all, is key:D.

i am planning to let them finish the one child and then i am going to switch dentist just because iof their attitude... other people i talk to that go there are having the same problems about them always canceling appointments... just about every one of our appointments that they made for us have been rescheduled by them for one reason or another... i understand that things come up but this is happening to several other people too.... when there was this other dentist that worked there we used to see her we never had this problem... just now when we have to see this new one...

That's too bad, but I'd switch too. You know, you have to schedule time off work, take your child out of school for this. That's not right at all. I wish you the best of luck at the new dentist;).
