The litter I had in Decemberstarted eating food like their mother at 4 weeks. They just started doing it on their own were okay. Of course they were still nursingalong with eating feed.Before4 weeksthey really werent interested in the food that the mom was eating their main focus was mommies milk.

They can leave the mother at 8 weeks, but you don't really have to worry about separating the boys and girls until they are 4 months old. Hopefully before then you find homes for them. Make sure if you have two bunnies going to the same home that they are the same sex, because many people don't know how to sex bunnies and end up with baby bunnies.

Most babies will start nibbling on their mom's food once their eyes are open. Do make sure that they can reach both her food and her water bottle. Be careful if you feed the mom greens- I'd keep them away from the babies.

They should be weaned around eight weeks. I disagree that boys and girls can be left together till four months. It might be ok for your big buns which develop slower, but some boys can drop their testicles as early as 8 weeks and then they really should be separated unless you can get them neutered quickly. In smaller breeds, does have been known to give birth as early as four months meaning they got pregnant at three!

I put hay and pellets mixed with rolled oats (dry oatmeal) in the cage at 3-4 weeks for my babies. They will start nibbling and follow moms lead.

They can be seperated from momma at 6 weeks (take Momma out) and leave the babies together for 2 weeks. Then they can start going to new homes. Send each baby with a bag of pellets or whatever food they have been eatting. Makes the transition easier on their digestive systems.

The larger breed babies (including French Lops) can stay together until they are about 12-14 weeks old, as long as they are not crowded or fighting.

Yeah - I had an "almost 9 week old" boy get his mama pregnant - SURPRISE when she had a litter....and the ONLY tort buck she'd been around was her son....

I let my babies start eating pellets whenever they want. I don't pick a certain age to introduce it too them, as they already are used to it from Momma eating it while they're in utero, and while she's still nursing them.

It's a natural instinct for them to go and eat the pellets.

I wean my litters around 6 or 7 weeks (Mini Rex) and they are usually fully weaned by 8 or 9 weeks. During that time though, they are seperated from Momma and I place them in her cage in the morning to feed and then they go back to their own cages. I do this until they see her every other day, and then every two days, and every once in a while, etc.
