Hey guys!

Wow, I'm very excited today! Yesterday, I got a PM off someone on an Irish guinea pig forum asking if I was still interested in a male guinea pig (I had offered to help someone out before, but they were too far). This person is moving to the US in March and has lots of piggies and bunnies looking for homes. They had just one male.

They live in Dublin, which is about 4-5 hours away, the other side of the country to where I am, but their friend was staying with them from Clare and they are bringing the pig right to my town :pinkbouce:

I get him tomorrow at around 4pm :) I'm going to be busy getting everything setup! I'm going to make up a cage for him soon, hoping to bond him to my other too but will let him relax in his own area first. Also, I want to try either expand my current boys cage or else build a new one at the weekend. Need to buy some stuff for him tomorrow too (food bowl, hidey house, water bottle etc.)

Anywho, his name is Toffee, he is tri coloured and a year old. He has a little rosette on his head according to his owner, just can't see it in the picture. Might not keep his name, not sure, any suggestions?

Here he is

He is so cute! He should be a lot of fun, with all those silly noises they make!

I think the name Toffee suits him, but I like the name Charlie for all GPs, don't know why. ;)

Thanks, ya I love the noises they make, right now my two boys are nibbling away and making little noises. We had a charlie pig before :) it does make a good pig name.

He is here, doing great, a little scared but he is eating and all that :) He is such a cutie, he has such a sweet face :inlove:My boys keep standing up and looking over into his cage, it's so cute. He needs to get some rest after his long journey

he is gorgeous. :)..just darling

best forum for guinea pigs is Guinealynx ;
it's like an RO for Guinea pig owners ; I am a member but haven't posted for a long time
Make sure that he gets veggies that are high in Vitamin C ( if you can get him to eat red peppers ...they are easy to feed and high in C)

but start out slow just like with a bunny

they also like parsley, Romaine, broccoli , cilantro
and baby carrots as a treat.

they also need grass or timothy hay to grind down their cute little piggie teeth :)

Thanks :)

I also have two other piggies, Gizmo & Pinky, so I've done all the research on food and stuff already :)I'm on two guinea pig forums, but they are quite small, so might check that one out too.

Congrats on the new handsome addition! :)
I'm a member on GuineaLynx as well, it's a very good froum.
