Freak accident this morning. I was out cleaning
The cages and doing my chores with Alice and
Thumps. And went to get hay and thought
I put the barrier up and when I got back to
The cages ( 30 sec) and what do I find but
Thumps mounting Alice. Ugh!!! I couldn't catch
Them. Alice was running away from Thumps
But he of course wouldn't give up. When I
Finally did get the Thumps was mounting Alice
And Alice was laying down. So now what do I do?!?
Help is needed now!

I'm confused. Is there something wrong with the doe now or is the concern just that the doe may now be pregnant.
If there's something wrong with the doe, we're going to need a better description. If it's the latter, you can either prepare for a possible pregnancy or have the doe spayed.

Isn't this what you wanted to happen?
Otherwise you would have gotten both the buck and doe spayed and neutered back when everyone was telling you, that you should.

Since you cant keep more then the 2 rabbits you have now. Just get the doe spayed and terminate any possible pregnancy.

It's possible to terminate a pregnancy by spaying her now. Why didn't you just buy a separate cage?

I wasn't trying to be smart,I was just wondering. I would,it may be hard to find them homes and they would need a lot of attention plus the other two. I know it's not fair but it may be best. That's what we did with our cat,it was best for her.

It can be hard to find the babies homes...But damage is done..now you just need guidence to get the litter here is what I am assuming. She is going to have babies in 28-31 days. She will need hay and a nest box about a week prior..any sooner and she will likely use it as a litter box...she will pull fur and make a nest at some point in that week...some days before and some just a few hours before birth...Tell us what you need help with and I am sure we can guide you through it!

Sorry lumlumpop. Wasn't directing the post
To you. I don't think I could do that knowing
I could be killing babies. No, that's just not right.
I would figure it out if she is pregnant. I'm not
Going to punish her for this.

Sorry NDrAbBiTs58041. That comment was right below mine so it was just kinda...ip thought there was a connection...oops...

I can understand that,it's just that on the rare occasion an animal of ours got pregnant before we could schedule an appointment my Dad just terminates the pregnancy so I'm kinda used to just going. "Oh accidentally got pregnant? You can still spay it." Molly's case was kinda necessary but other than that it was because he doesn't want any babies. Speaking of baby bunnies do they have a name? Like kittens, calves, kits, puppies? Or are they just called baby bunnies?

they are called kits, and there is no guarantee she is actually pregnant. If you cant deal with the babies it is safer to terminate pregnancy now then to wait until you know she is carrying babies. also are the in separate cages? if not she can get pregnant the minute she is finished giving birth, so I would separate them asap, also a male will sometimes kill the litter to get her pregnant again. Just some food for thought.

No they r not together there in a cage with
A divider so they can't get to each other. Just
That I thought I had the divider closed and
The buck got to the other side where my doe was.
Terminating a pregnancy is NOT a option.

For the doe do I need to feed her unlimited pellets
Now it wait? Also with the veggies unlimited
Or stay with what I'm feeding now? I already
Know unlimited hay which they are both
Getting now.

Yes,you wouldn't be killing anything but you're making it so they can't breed. I also suggest getting the male neutered as well unless you want spraying. Trust me it's disgusting.

You can take her to the vet and they will tell you if she's pregnant or not. Of she's not pregnant then you can spay her to avoid any future problems. It's the most responsible thing to do in this case. If she's not pregnant then I don't see the point of not spaying her.

They won't be able to tell if she's pregnant until day 14. If the buck actually mated with her you should have seen it. It doesn't take long but the buck will normally make grunt noises and fall over when he got her. There is certainly no guarantee that she is even pregnant. If you get her spayed within the next couple of days you won't have to feel guilty at all.

Seriously if you can't take care of baby rabbits, risk loosing your doe, or risk loosing the babies (because the odds are normally against new moms) then you should spay her. Certainly you don't have to listen to any of us trying to give you advice but blatantly ignoring everyone's suggestions and putting up a wall is not going to do anything when you actually need advice later because we might think why say anything if you aren't going to listen anyways.

Again I say if you don't want to risk the death of the babies or your doe spay her now
